How Sei Foundation simplified payroll and compliance.

How Sei Foundation simplified payroll and compliance.

Sei Development Foundation uses Toku to bring employee payroll and vendor payments into one workflow. The service also supports token distributions, with USDC settlement on Sei and connections to existing payroll providers, including Workday and ADP.

Toku’s customer success team owns the Sei Foundation relationship, with a weekly check-in to support ongoing payroll and compliance needs.

Toku runs Sei’s payroll in France through its WorkCo entity. Sei also moved to Toku’s new tax engine in August 2026.

Customer: Sei Development Foundation

Industry: Blockchain infrastructure

Use cases: Employee payroll, vendor payments, and token distributions

Settlement network: Sei

Stablecoin supported by the integration: USDC

Why payroll needs more than fast payments

Sei Development Foundation supports the growth and adoption of the Sei ecosystem. Using the network for payroll and business payments brings that mission into everyday operations.

Fast settlement is one part of that process. Employers also need payroll calculations, tax withholding, and employment workflows. Toku connects payroll infrastructure with onchain payments, while Sei provides the settlement network.

The earlier challenge: combining payroll and token compensation

Toku’s original Sei Foundation case study described a team preparing to scale with a traditional EOR provider. The provider lacked the specialized capabilities needed to support token compensation alongside global payroll.

Sei Foundation selected Toku for EOR services, token grant administration, and hands-on onboarding support.

Toku helped us simplify our payroll and compliance processes while seamlessly implementing our token compensation program through one integrated solution. Their hands-on support allowed us to stay focused on growing our core business.

How Sei Development Foundation uses Toku today

Sei Development Foundation uses Toku for three operational needs:

  • Employee payroll: Paying employees through Toku’s payroll infrastructure.
  • Vendor payments: Managing payments to business suppliers and service providers.
  • Token distributions: Supporting token payments alongside other compensation workflows.

Sei’s February 12, 2026 announcement identifies the Foundation as an employer using the system for all three.

How USDC payroll settlement on Sei works

The integration connects Toku’s payroll API to Sei, enabling employee payroll and corporate payments to settle in USDC on the network.

Once payroll processing is complete and payments are released, settlement can happen onchain. The speed benefit applies to the payment settlement step; payroll preparation and approval still come first.

Can other employers use Toku’s Sei integration?

Yes. The integration also supports other employers using Toku. Toku’s API connects with payroll providers including Workday and ADP, giving companies access to USDC payments on Sei alongside their established payroll systems.
