Define more than the final file
A project may contain labels, explanations, reference answers, software, and recorded material. Identify which pieces the contributor creates and which materials they bring from elsewhere. The rights required for each may differ.
A useful deliverable definition points to the task specification and its version. If a project expands from reviewing text to writing code, check whether the agreement and acceptance criteria still describe the work.
Read the downstream commitment first
List the uses promised to the customer, such as training, evaluation, modification, distribution, or sublicensing. Then review whether the contributor and provider agreements support those uses. Do not assume that a payment receipt itself establishes ownership.
IP assignment also does not resolve consent, confidentiality, or permissions for third-party data. Treat those as connected questions and retain the relevant evidence without collecting unrelated personal information.
Build a rights record that survives handoffs
Keep the contributor identifier, agreement version, signature reference, task identifiers, and acceptance record together. Establish how rights transfer if an intermediary is in the contracting chain.
Toku can discuss IP terms as part of the contributor arrangement and review them with your team. Include that scope in the AoR or contracting quote rather than treating it as a feature automatically implied by low-cost payment processing.
General information for teams planning contributor programs. Classification, tax, payment eligibility, and data obligations depend on the actual arrangement and applicable local requirements.
