Stablecoin payroll
Pay your team in stablecoins without changing payroll systems
Toku lets employees and contractors get paid in USDC, USDT, and other major stablecoins alongside the payroll system you already run. Fund from a bank account or a stablecoin balance. The worker chooses what lands — stablecoins to a wallet, or local currency to a bank.
Most providers that offer stablecoin payments want you to move your whole payroll onto their platform first. Toku doesn't.
See how it compares to Deel and Gusto →Once payroll is funded, the balance earns yield until payday, and your team can spend from it with a card.

How the money moves
Fund your way. Pay them theirs.
Your funding currency doesn’t have to be their payout currency. Toku connects the two.

Fund payroll
Use the funds you already hold.

Payroll meets conversion
Toku handles conversion in either direction and connects to your payroll system.
03 / Your team
Choose what lands
Employees and contractors choose how they receive their pay.
Fiat in, stablecoins out. Stablecoins in, local currency out. Or keep the same currency on both sides.

Pay
Compliant payroll and contractor payments, settled instantly.
Pay employees and contractors in 100+ countries without wires, FX markups, or 3 to 5 day settlement windows. Firms can fund payouts in fiat or stablecoins, and workers can receive pay in stablecoins or their local currency. Toku handles the conversion in either direction, and your team gets paid on time, every time, no matter where they sit.

Earn
Pay that pays you back.
Employees and contractors earn yield on their stablecoin balance, right inside the same wallet they get paid into. No separate accounts, no extra apps, no giving up custody. They withdraw principal and earnings anytime, and participation is always optional. It is a better compensation experience, and you do not need to switch payroll providers to offer it.
Disclaimer: Yield is variable and not guaranteed. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Toku is not a bank, broker-dealer, or investment adviser. Funds held in yield-bearing instruments are not FDIC-insured and may lose value. Consult your financial adviser before making decisions based on yield projections.

SPEND
Your team spends the moment they are paid.
Every employee and contractor gets a Visa card linked to their stablecoin balance. No conversions, no waiting for bank transfers to clear, no figuring out how to off-ramp. Paid on Friday, spending on Friday, anywhere Visa is accepted.

The teams that switched first
Three early-access teams, 30+ days in. Here's what they're saying about paying their global workforce on stablecoin rails.
We had a senior hire moving to a country we had never operated in, on a tight timeline, with a compensation package that included tokens. Toku had her onboarded inside two weeks, sorted the tax treatment on her token portion, and set up local benefits. Our previous provider had told us it was not possible.
VP People, decentralised infrastructure company
When we had questions about administering token grants across fifteen jurisdictions, we did not get a generic sales pitch or a let-me-check-with-the-team response. Toku's head of token payroll proposed a structure on the call that our outside counsel had not considered. That changed how we thought about the whole programme.

We moved off a legacy EOR and an outside accounting firm and finally closed the reconciliation gap on our RSUs. The depth of expertise on the Toku team is leagues ahead of where we were. We are saving more than thirty hours a month in operations admin, and the books close clean every cycle.
Finance Manager, remote-first software company
Our token launch had a mountain of deadlines, hundreds of international recipients, and a vesting schedule that no off-the-shelf provider could handle. Toku stepped in, coordinated with our outside counsel, and ran the entire distribution end to end. By the time we went live, every recipient was set up correctly and every jurisdiction was covered.

The fee comparison was the part that sold the CFO. FX showed up as a line item on every invoice, capped contractually, and the off-ramp was twenty-five basis points. Our previous provider had been pulling north of three percent on the same payments and never put it on an invoice.
COO, distributed AI startup
We launched US operations on stablecoin payroll in two weeks. Hires got paid the same day we ran their first cycle, in the mix of stablecoin and fiat they asked for, and tax withholding was handled in the background. The setup we'd been quoted by traditional providers was six weeks and three vendors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, when the infrastructure is built for it. Toku handles local tax withholding, statutory contributions, and tax document generation in every country we support. For US employees, payroll runs through ADP with standard W-2 processing. For international workers, we operate either as the Employer of Record, the Contractor of Record, or as a payments and compliance layer on top of your own entity, depending on what your setup needs.
Toku provides compliance infrastructure and is not a law firm. This content is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal or tax advice. Consult your legal counsel for jurisdiction-specific guidance.
Pay employees from a stablecoin treasury by funding the approved payroll run from your company wallet or custodian while keeping your existing payroll system as the source of truth. Toku reads the payroll data, matches each worker's payout preference, and executes stablecoin or local-currency payments through the same controlled workflow. Your treasury team retains its approval process and custody model, while payroll records stay connected to each transaction. The Toku and Utila treasury integration shows how wallet operations, treasury, and compensation can work as one flow.
Finance teams reconcile stablecoin payroll at month-end by matching the payroll register to a transaction-level ledger for every payout. Each record should connect the worker, approved net-pay amount, payout preference, timestamp, fiat-equivalent value, and on-chain transaction hash to the same payroll run. Toku writes payment records back against the existing payroll system, so stablecoin and local-currency lines can be reviewed together rather than across disconnected exports. Finance can then investigate exceptions, retain approval evidence, and provide auditors with a clear path from the payroll register to the completed payment.
Use the stablecoin that fits your compliance requirements and the recipient's local liquidity. USDC is often the conservative default for employee payroll because its reserve reporting and regulatory posture are straightforward to document, while USDT can be practical in contractor corridors where it is easier for recipients to use. The network also matters because wallet support and local access vary. Many global programs support both and choose per recipient instead of forcing one coin everywhere. See the USDC vs USDT payroll guide for the full decision framework.
Businesses can use a compatible company wallet, institutional custodian, or multisig to fund stablecoin payroll, while recipients use verified wallets that support the selected stablecoin and network. The right setup depends on treasury approvals, custody policy, privacy requirements, and which networks workers can receive. Toku connects payroll data to the payment workflow rather than asking finance to manage wallet-by-wallet payouts manually. For organizations that need compensation details shielded on-chain, the Aleo and Paxos Labs announcement describes a private stablecoin payroll option built around confidential settlement.
Toku's published list pricing is $19 per contractor per month for Contractor Management and $149 per contractor per month for Agent of Record. Network fees vary by chain and should be confirmed for the stablecoin and network used for each payout. The applicable Toku service depends on whether your business manages contractors directly or needs Toku to act as the agent of record. Review the pricing page for the current scope of each service and discuss the intended worker mix and payment setup with Toku before launch.
